GEORGE SEGAL was born in New York in 1924. His work has already found a secure place in the history of twentieth-century art. Sculptures by Segal are included in the great public and private collections of North America, Europe and Japan.
Throughout his career, Segal has continually made formal innovations in his work, but one concern has above all remained a constant: the desire to convey the dignity, individuality and fragility of the inner life of human beings.
